I am Getting 404 error when trying to access settings on a repo, i was given a collaborator access.
Any one know how to solve this issue?

1. Check your access level

Go to the repository main page
Look for the Settings tab in the top navigation
If you don't see it at all, you don't have admin access

2. Ask the repository owner to

Go to Settings → Collaborators
Click on your username
Change your role from "Write" to "Admin"
Or change from "Triage" or "Read" to "Admin"

3. Verify you're accessing the correct URL
   Go to settings
   Make sure you're not trying to access organization settings by mistake

4. Check if the repository is part of an organization

Organization repositories have different permission structures
You might need to be added to a team with admin permissions
Ask the organization owner to check your team membership

I can see the settings tab, but clicking on it wont work.

Reason why You're Getting a 404?

I have Direct Access permission level.

Got it thanks for clarifying.

If your access shows as Direct Access, that just means you were added individually to the repository (not through a team), but the permission level still determines what you can actually do.

Could you double check what it says right next to Direct Access? It should show something like Read, Write, Maintain, or Admin.

If it’s Write or lower, that would explain the 404 only Admin access allows you to view or modify the repository’s Settings tab.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am not seeing any way to "upgrade" a user to ADMIN or give any more permissions. I just see the screen you showed in the image above
