"Your copilot subscription has expired" but my seat is active in organization's copilot plan #162194
-
Select Topic AreaBug Copilot Feature AreaVS Code BodyHi, CoPilot in VSCode suddenly stopped working for me today. It worked fine earlier this afternoon. The CoPilot VSCode plugin says "Your Copilot subscription has expired". I click the "Review Copilot Settings" link, which takes me to my personal account's Copilot webpage, which says "Your trial of Copilot has ended. Please purchase to continue to use Copilot." I don't think I've trialed Copilot in nearly two and a half years. I've been using Copilot through my organization for the last couple years. I double-checked my organization's Copilot settings. It's still enabled. We're still paying for it. And my seat is active. Any idea what is going on or how to fix it? I've tried uninstalling the Copilot VSCode plugin. |

This is happening to me as well. Seems like a global bug. |

Same thing. What is really unfortunate is that if I remove the seat and try to use a personal license, or "resubscribe" its not working, because its trying to main the org based subscription until the expiration date. Please fix this, otherwise you're basically breaking copilot, without ANY workaround possibility, short of something silly, like making a new account. |

I am in the same boat. I was previously paying for a copilot subscription. My organisation started paying for it and I got a pro rata refund. Today I noticed the "Your GitHub Copilot subscription has ended." message on my personal github copilot page. |

Same; I quit my personal subscription a couple years ago when my company picked up a license for me, but now I see "Your GitHub Copilot subscription has ended.", even though I also see a message for my org that says "Admins have enabled Copilot for this organization and have given you access." And I can't click to sign up for a personal subscription even if I wanted to, the link does nothing. I guess I'm glad to hear it's happening to more people? Hopefully we see some activity on this soon. |

Same issue. The root cause for this is likely because I finally identified where this bug was occurring after multiple hours of tracking it down. This obviously froze my VSCode, because of course it did. The subscription outage was caused because I was 99% through my problem and for some reason the world won't let me wrap this damn thing up. Sorry everyone! Hopefully it gets resolved soon. |

I was part of an organization that paid for my Copilot license (I had a copilot seat on the organization). Now, I left the organization and my Copilot is still managed by them, but it doesn't work because I left. I'm in this weird bug state where I can't pay for my own subscription, the old organization still has me assigned to their Copilot, and my Copilot doesn't work anymore. Does anybody know how I can solve this? I asked them to remove me from the organization but apparently they didn't do it, and I also opened a support ticket with Github 4 days ago and still didn't get any response. |
