You don't necessarily need to physically be at your school building, and you definitely do not need to share your live location to apply. GitHub Education verifies eligibility based on documentation. For informal learning institutes, they typically look for things like a school-issued email address (if you have, it should look something like 'yourname@yourinstitute.whatever.edu'), an enrollment letter, student ID or proof of participation. Alternatively, they might also look for a link to the institute's official website. Being on campus won't improve your chances, and GitHub doesn't check whether you're submitting the application from a specific location. If GitHub needs more information, they'll request additional proof, not location access. Hope this clears it up! |

Hi everyone,
Do I have to share my location when I'm at my school building to verify my school is an informal learning institute?
